Magier können Zauber wirken. Dazu muss ein Wurf mit dem Intelligenzbonus + Zauberbonus (ZB) gegen 10 + Schwierigkeit des Zaubers gemacht werden. Man kann dies mit einem Nahkampfangriff vergleichen, bei dem die Rüstungsklasse des Gegners, je nach Zaubergrad, wie gewohnt 10 bis 19 beträgt. Bei einer 20 oder einer bestandenen Probe wird der Zauber wie vorhergesehen gewirkt. Bei Fehlschlag kein Effekt; bei Fehlschlag um 5 oder mehr oder bei gewürfelter 1 folgende Tabelle, grinsend.
Durch Opfern eines Punktes an Willenskraft kann ein Wurf um w4 angehoben werden. Durch Opfern von w6 Willenskraft kann jeder Zauber, sofern eine Quelle vorhanden ist, gewirkt werden. Sinkt die Willenskraft dabei auf Null, so bleibt nur ein brabbelndes, mutiertes Häufchen Elend zurück.
Erlaubt sind alle Zauber aus S&W White Box oder Labyrinth Lord
Die folgende Tabelle stammt von www.nihsen.com und war eigentlich für ein anderes System gedacht, schien mir aber beim Überfliegen recht nützlich. Zumindest bis eine eigene Fehlschlagtabelle steht, muss sie wohl als Ersatz herhalten.

01-50 Caster stunned d10 Rounds With Defense.
51-60 Ringing in ears causes caster to be at –20% on everything for d4 hours.
61-70 Caster glows brightly (10’ radius). All attacks against him are +25% AP for 24 hours.
71-80 Incurable hiccoughing for 2 hours (noisy & no spellcasting)
81-90 Caster knocked unconscious for 1 hour.
91-99 Caster turns a funny color-permanently.
100 Spell has opposite desired effect.

51-60 Foe saves automatically against the next spell roll.
